Job summary

A leading care home provider in Chichester seeks a Senior Support Worker to ensure high standards of care for children. Qualifications

Overview

Our client is a leading care home operator in West Sussex. They are currently looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker, to join their team, at their Children\'s Care Home based in Chichester, West Sussex.

Responsibilities
  • To join a team of residential care staff ensuring that safe and appropriate care practices are always maintained.
  • To support the Manager in all aspects of the home\'s operation, whilst maintaining positive childcare practice, in keeping with the aims and objectives of the home.
  • To provide a safe, warm, and supportive environment to our residents whilst being involved in the planning and organisation of the home.
  • To maintain a regular recording system in connection with each young person, be involved in the implementation of care plans and assist in the publication of reports when required.
  • To attend review and planning meetings when required.
  • To assist with the process of development, implementation, and review of service policy.
  • To ensure when on shift that care staff conduct themselves within the guidelines of the home in line with Policy documents and care plans.
  • To delegate tasks to residential care staff and co-ordinate the daily routines of the home and participate in household duties such as cooking, cleaning, gardening and promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • To delegate tasks to residential care staff and participate in the general activities of the home such as cycling, swimming, walking, playing games and to use any personal skills you may have to maximise opportunity for each resident.
  • To attend regular supervision sessions, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • To accept responsibility for such monies as may be required in the carrying out of your duties
  • To administer medication to children as required and complete all related paperwork and records.
  • To undertake sleeping in duties as required.
  • To comply with and adherence to the policies, procedures, and practice of the home and to respond to emergencies which may arise within the service.
  • To provide a positive role model for colleagues and the young people resident.
Qualifications and Education
  • Minimum L2 Health & Social care (willing to work towards L3 within 24 months)
Experience
  • To have worked within residential children\'s care home in the last 2 years
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Effective record-keeping skills and maintaining the confidentiality
