We have an amazing opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team at our Kingly Terrace service in Rushden. Our wonderful team understand that a holistic approach is necessary to ensure that those in our care are safe, happy, and healthy. Kingly Terrace is a detached property providing support for eight adults with acquired brain injuries or neurological conditions. The house includes 12 large single bedrooms, a communal lounge and dining area, kitchen and separate laundry room. There is an additional Spa bathroom with a modified bath and ceiling track hoist. The ground floor is large enough to accommodate wheelchair users and there is a lift to access upper floors. Located within a thriving local community, people are supported to access the wider opportunities both in and around their home.

What you’ll be working:

You’ll be working 42 hours per week, every other weekend. The service provides care 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Effectively lead the shift by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained at all times.
  • Supporting care plans to establish routine.
  • Ensure that all service users have up-to-date risk assessments and person‑centered plans in place and review and update as required with the service manager.
  • Ensure the people we support feel safe and stable within their day‑to‑day care.
  • Personal Care.
  • Cover all aspects of the support worker role as and when required to work on the floors in order to meet the needs of the service.
  • Be part of the on‑call team.
  • Responsible for attending and completing all mandatory training.
  • Administrate medication.
  • Support with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids (e.g., hoists, wheelchairs).
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to meet service user’s rehabilitation objectives and goals.
  • Plan, co‑ordinate and facilitate person‑centred, meaningful activities for service users.
What you’ll have:
  • Strong organisational, time‑management, planning and communication skills.
  • Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi‑site working.
  • Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care or be willing to work towards it.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
  • Proven reliability in terms of full attendance and timekeeping.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
  • Self‑confidence and ability to manage challenging situations.
  • Driving licence would be preferable.
  • Ability to address and respond to employee issues in a fair and consistent manner.
