Senior Care Assistant wanted for Newport

Location: Newport
Hours: Flexible/Agency
Salary: From £14.00 (PAYE)

About the Role:

As a Senior and Experienced Care Assistant, you'll be expected to work closely with Management to deliver high standards of physical, emotional, and social care tailored to individual needs. You'll be required to act as a role model for lesser experienced staff, led by example on shift whilst conducting your roles and responsibilities and help promote independence and dignity in a calm and safe environment. Additionally, you will assist residents where necessary, with personal care and with their needs according to their activities of daily living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support with the resident’s personal care and their wellbeing
  • Lead shifts confidently, offering help and guidance to the care team
  • Review and contribute to individual care plans
  • Administer and manage medications (as authorised)
  • Complete risk assessments accurately
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care
  • Accurately document observations, updates, and progress
  • Maintain high standards safeguarding
What We're Looking For:
  • NVQ Level 2 or ideally NVQ Level 3 or higher
  • Experience as a Senior/Team Lead and ability to lead a team
  • Minimum of 6 months UK based care experience (within the last 3 years)
  • Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship)
  • Candidates willing to undergo thorough DBS and Reference checks
  • Confidence in leading a shift and supporting colleagues
  • Strong communication, organisation, and team skills
  • Compassion, patience, and a practical mindset
  • A commitment to upholding dignity, choice, and respect
