Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a Senior Support Worker in Livingston to mentor care teams and oversee service delivery for individuals with complex needs. This role requires flexibility beyond the standard 9–5 schedule and involves supporting staff in delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

You will participate in audits, develop and review care plans, and collaborate with professionals to ensure high-quality services. A driving licence and proactive approach are essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the care sector.
  • SVQ Level 2 qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence or access to your own vehicle.
  • Flexibility with working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and guiding care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Carrying out spot checks, audits and observations in service users' homes.
  • Construct and implement initial care plans with regular reviews.
  • Attending meetings with social workers and other professionals.
  • Monitoring care standards and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding throughout the service.
  • Reporting concerns, incidents and progress to your line manager.
  • Participating in the on-call rota and providing emergency or holiday cover when needed.
  • On occasion, deliver direct care.
  • Promoting a safe working environment and contributing to team meetings.

Senior Support Worker

Location: Livingston

Hourly Rate: £14.22 plus mileage between calls

Contract Type: 6 month fixed term contract, 16 hours per week.

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Support Worker to join our team. This is not a standard Monday to Friday, 9-5 role. Flexibility is essential and will be reciprocated. You'll play a key role in mentoring care teams, overseeing service delivery, and supporting individuals with more complex needs.

Role Duties

Key Criteria:

  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A commitment to delivering compassionate, respectful care
  • An SVQ Level 2 qualification or above is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
