Job summary

Making Space Charity in Ellesmere Port is recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join our new home care service. You will support adults in their own homes, lead a team, and ensure care plans are person-centred and up to date.

The role involves working 37.5 hours per week, with shifts between 7am and 11pm, including some weekends. Salary £27,105 per annum, with a paid induction and progression opportunities.

Job description

We have exciting new opportunities available for Senior Support Workers to join our new service delivering care at home in Ellesmere Port & Chester.


Salary £27,105 per annum


Weekly Hours 37.5 (working various shifts between 7am-11pm including working some weekends)


Location Ellesmere Port & Chester


The service is due to open in May with a planned paid induction for staff prior to opening.


Our services deliver compassionate, person-centred care to individuals in their own homes across Cheshire West and Chester. Working in close partnership with local authorities and other health and social care professionals, we support people to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life at home. Our services offer a flexible range of both regulated and non-regulated support, tailored to meet individual needs. As a Senior Support Worker, you will support adults on a person-centred basis to live independently and receive the care they need in their own homes. You will also provide guidance, leadership, and day-to-day support to Support Workers.


You will act as a Key Worker, supporting individuals through assessment, care planning, reviews, and therapeutic activities. You will ensure that care and support plans are accurate, up to date, and truly person-centred.


You will work with a variety of people with differing needs, including providing support with personal care, medication assistance, meal preparation, and domestic tasks. Every day will be different, so we are looking for someone who can think on their feet and respond effectively to individual needs. Patience and a good sense of humour are essential qualities for this role.


As Senior Support Worker you will supervise staff members and delegate responsibilities ensuring values based support is delivered to the highest standard so previous Support Worker experience is essential.
