Job description

Position: Senior Residential Support Worker

Location: Derby

Salary: >£40,734 OTE – inclusive of sleep‑ins

Role: Permanent

Mayfield Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior Support Worker in the Derby area on a permanent basis. The role requires the delivery of high-quality, person‑centred care to all residents and will focus on 10‑17 year‑old children with EBD. This role does not offer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help children and young people develop leisure interests and skills inside and outside the home.
  • Implement personal care plans for children and young people.
  • Assist with day‑care activities.
  • Communicate with other staff about children and young people’s needs and activities.
  • Record children and young people’s needs, activities and behaviours in the home’s diary system.
  • Facilitate regular Service User meetings.
  • Carry out key working sessions.
  • Carry out risk assessments and reviews.
  • Plan shifts and delegate tasks.
  • Conduct conflict resolution and debriefs at the end of each shift.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3/Level 4 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or QCF Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner qualification.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children with EBD and learning disabilities.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to carry out personal care.
