Job summary

A small independent fostering agency in North Wales is looking for an experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker. You will supervise a caseload of foster carers, supporting them through monthly supervision and regular visits. The role offers flexible hybrid working and a commitment to ongoing training and development. Ideal candidates will be qualified social workers with at least two years of experience in children's social work, possessing excellent organizational skills. A driving licence and vehicle access are required.

Senior Supervising Social Worker - Small independent fostering agency - North Wales

Randstad are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker to join a small and supportive independent fostering agency in the North Wales area.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a values‑led team passionate about providing high‑quality foster care and excellent outcomes for children and young people across North Wales. You'll be joining a close‑knit team of seven experienced professionals who have worked together for a number of years, known for their positive working relationships and genuine support for one another.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a caseload of around 12 foster carers, providing monthly supervision and regular visits
  • Undertake safeguarding, risk assessments, and care planning in line with the organisation’s policies and Social Care Wales standards
  • Attend reviews, meetings, and respond to crises when required
  • Contribute to foster carer annual reviews and present reports to panel as needed
  • Co‑lead carer training sessions alongside the Deputy Manager (training lead)
  • Sit on fostering panels periodically (typically Thursdays, 5:30‑7:30pm)
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities and multi‑agency professionals
  • Uphold the organisation’s values, ensuring all work reflects a child‑centred, safe, and nurturing approach
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
  • Qualified Social Worker with SWE or Social Care Wales registration (support provided if transferring registration)
  • 2 years plus experience in a children’s social work setting – IFA, Local Authority or NHS
  • Open to experience within Fostering, Adoption, Looked‑After Children, or Children in Our Care within local authority or IFA
  • Open to candidates with a CAMHS Therapeutic background
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Care Planning, and multi‑agency working
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Welsh‑speaking desirable but not essential
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
