Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Technical Lead Engineer to drive engineering activities for Substation Automation projects in PGGA UK, based in Stone, Staffordshire. You will lead design, testing and commissioning, collaborating with customers to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions aligned with Hitachi Energy standards.

Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, have substations automation experience, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• Proven experience in substation automation projects.
• Strong communication skills and English fluency.
• Expertise in SCADA, protection, comms protocols and networks.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead and design authority for engineering deliverables across all applicable engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate all technical activities during the complete project cycle – including testing and commissioning.
• Work closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions and utilize feedback to drive improvements and satisfaction.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices across borders within the HUB Europe Region.
• Prepare the base design of substation automation systems, control, and protection; verify the base design in detailed design.
• Take over aspects of detailed design engineering, testing, or commissioning as needed.
• Support the Project Manager in costings, estimations, and scope change implications.
• Provide technical details, financial information, and deliverables for sales proposals.
