As a Senior Structures Specialist you will play a pivotal role in developing and refining Lloyds Register’s Rules and Regulations for ship structures. This 12‑month maternity cover position offers a unique opportunity to influence global maritime safety standards.

The role
  • Deliver complex technical assessments and provide expert advice on structural matters including composites, multi‑hulls and small craft
  • Contribute to rule development and research projects within defined parameters
  • Present technical deliverables to internal and external stakeholders offering alternative solutions where appropriate
  • Mentor junior colleagues and support knowledge transfer across the team
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety industry standards and internal procedures
What you bring
  • A degree in engineering or physical sciences or equivalent marine qualifications
  • Two to five years industry experience or a PhD in a relevant subject
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving and project management skills
  • Experience in technical rule development or structural assessments is highly desirable
