Senior Structural Technician - Energy Projects

Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Revit Technician to join our Energy sector team and help develop and lead the production of Revit models and CAD drawings across all design stages.

You will work with an established team of engineers and technicians, coordinating 3D BIM models, liaising with external stakeholders and applying BIM360 and cloud-based workflows to support conception through construction. Strong planning, communication and presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• An HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience in Energy Structures as a Technician.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in the principles of ISO 19650, BIM templates, BEPs, and use of collaborative information management software.
• Experience in working with digital platforms, particularly BIM360 and its collaborative modules (Not essential, training will be provided).
• Strong, practical experience of using Revit in a similar building structures focused role.
• Proficiency at planning and organising workload.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Familiarity with working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce and supervise coordinated 3D BIM models using Revit; preparing engineering models & drawings from sketches and design information
• Work closely with key external stakeholders, clients and colleagues from all parts of the WSP business to achieve multidisciplinary delivery outcomes
• Use BIM technologies both in cloud and managed systems to prepare concise engineering drawings for key stages such as conception, planning, tender, building warrant and construction
• Fulfil Project Technician role – manage the drafting aspects of projects of varying complexity and size, actively driving the collaboration.
