A leading engineering firm in the United Kingdom is seeking a CS&A Site-based Design Liaison Engineer to join their team. The role involves ensuring design integrity while collaborating closely with site operations and construction teams. Candidates should have a degree in engineering or equivalent experience, and strong knowledge of civil, structural, and architectural design processes. This position offers a dynamic work environment tackling substantial projects.
Our client is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20‑year arrangement to deliver approximately £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high‑value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site‑wide improvements and supporting services.
Due to continuing work at SCP we are looking to recruit a CS&A Site‑based Design Liaison Engineer. Reporting to the SCP CS&A RE (but working closely with Site Construction), the Site‑based CS&A Design Liaison Engineer should have a good knowledge of civil, structural and architectural design and construction.
The structural design will primarily comprise reinforced concrete and structural steelwork, including concrete process cells, steelwork superstructures (including crane support) and pipe bridges, in addition to civil groundworks and above and below‑ground services. The design has been carried out using Eurocodes, and experience of these codes—or the flexibility to adapt to them—is essential. The architectural package comprises a typical factory fit‑out, with partitions, blockwork, internal and external finishes, external and roof cladding, associated rainwater goods, internal and external doors (including key‑suiting access control mechanisms), ironmongery, fire‑stopping and overall fire strategy, and tie‑in works to the existing SIXEP plant. Design processes include temporary works checking procedures and interaction with team members to ensure the quality of the on‑site work produced. Attendance at off‑site fabrication works and meetings with other discipline engineers, project engineers and site operations may also be required.
The role will be mainly office‑based with trips to site if required. A safety induction will be provided.
