ICE Recruit is seeking a chartered civil or structural engineer for a respected London building structures practice. The role involves managing projects, engaging with architects, and mentoring assessing engineers. This is an opportunity with a respected London building structures practice working at the creative and technically challenging end of the structural engineering spectrum. The position will provide the challenges, mentoring and experience for you to succeed whilst enjoying a satisfying career with prospects. You will work alongside and learn from the brightest in the industry. This is a role for a chartered civil or structural engineer with a good degree from a reputable university. A flair for design and a background in building structures design and delivery is essential.
Project Workload: Theproject workload will engage your lateral thinking skills and require all your technical knowledge. They are regular collaborators with leading architects including Zaha Hadid, David Chipperfield and Eric Parry. Their structural work combines creativity with deep technical know-how to enable the creation of beautifully designed buildings across sectors that present their own unique challenges. These include: Arts & leisure, residential, commercial, healthcare and education schemes.
Training & Experience: Whilst you will manage your own projects, support and input is on hand from the firms’ two most senior directors, both industry figures with a wealth of knowledge to impart. You will develop very close working relationships with architects who will rely on you to develop the structural approach required to realise their architectural visions . This will mean you are a key figure at critical initial consultation and advisory stages. You will go on to negotiate fee’s and manage design production and delivery. You should therefore have good communication skills and the ability to motivate and mentor the engineers and technicians working on your projects. Some of whom will be training towards becoming chartered with the IStructE or ICE.
