Overview

A long-established and respected structural and civil engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong and motivated professional to take a leading role in the delivery of structural design projects and to contribute to the continued growth of a highly regarded consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural engineering design across multiple projects
• Deliver high-quality technical outputs and ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards
• Prepare, check, and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
• Coordinate effectively with clients, architects, and other design professionals
• Undertake site inspections and provide technical input during construction
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical leadership
• Support business development activities, including preparing proposals and attending client meetings
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and quality systems

Qualifications

• Chartered or near-Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE) preferred
• Minimum of 6 years\' experience in structural engineering consultancy
• Strong technical knowledge across all major materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry, composites)
• Proven ability to deliver projects from concept to completion
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience managing teams and client relationships
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software, as well as AutoCAD or Revit
