An independent consulting practice in Ipswich is seeking an experienced structural engineer. You will tackle projects in RC, steel, and masonry including building, rail, and industrial structures. Ideal candidates have at least seven years of design consultancy experience and a strong background in civil or structural engineering. This is a structural design and delivery role with overlapping civil engineering content. Reporting to, and supported by an associate, your work will span site survey, concept design, design delivery, client care and supervision of junior engineers. Projects will predominantly be RC, steel and masonry, typically spanning building, rail, and industrial structures. The position provides a technical and managerial mix, you will develop skills in project co-ordination, resourcing and commercial management. Your career progression will be assisted and encouraged, it is hoped you will grow with the company and take on a more senior role in line with their expansion plans.
A background in civil or building superstructures and experience of delivering your own project workload. You should have had at least seven years design consultancy exposure and must have knowledge of RC and steel design. Good interpersonal skills are vital to forging productive and harmonious relations with your clients and your team mates. This is a role for an engineer with some ambition, you will be joining a firm determined to succeed that is making impressive progress.
A 2:1 or above in civil or structural engineering, Incorporated or chartered, or on course to achieve chartership/ incorporation with the ICE, IStructE or an equivalent body. Support will be provided, if required, to obtain your chosen professional membership.
