Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to take a leading role in delivering high-profile and technically challenging projects. The role offers responsibility for design leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring design excellence from concept through to construction, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural design for buildings, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects, ensuring technical excellence.
  • Review and approve calculations, structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and graduate staff.
  • Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to develop integrated design solutions.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and surveys, providing professional guidance on construction and design implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with UK design codes, Eurocodes, BS standards, and client requirements.
  • Support project delivery including timelines, budgets, quality assurance, and risk management.
  • Contribute to design strategy, project planning, and technical decision-making.
  • Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on technical and design matters.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8-15 years' experience in structural design for buildings and infrastructure projects.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward chartership.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit, Robot Structural Analysis).
  • Strong knowledge of UK design codes, Eurocodes, and BS standards.
  • Proven experience leading design teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience with high-rise, mixed-use, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows, collaborative design practices, and integrated project delivery.
  • Track record of client liaison and project management responsibility.
