Senior Structural Engineer — Leicester

An established, design-led multidisciplinary consultancy in Leicester has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join their expanding team. This is the perfect role for an experienced engineer from a consultancy background who is ready to take the next step into a leadership position within a progressive, supportive, and creative environment.

The consultancy is well established across the Midlands and has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions across multiple sectors. Their diverse project portfolio includes residential developments, commercial offices, mixed-use schemes, education buildings, and bespoke architectural projects. Working closely with architects, developers, and contractors, the team is known for its design-led approach, technical expertise, and commitment to sustainable, buildable, and elegant structural solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers and technicians, managing the design and delivery of building structures projects from concept to completion.
• Take ownership of technical delivery, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accuracy, while maintaining the practice’s reputation for design excellence.
• Act in a client-facing capacity, developing long-term relationships, contributing to design strategy, and helping drive the continued growth of the consultancy’s structural engineering offering.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Chartered or approaching Chartered status (ICE or IStructE).
• At least ten years of UK industry experience within a consultancy environment, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality design solutions across a variety of building types.
• Experience with Tekla software is desirable.
• Effective communication and team leadership skills, capable of managing projects and supporting junior staff in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
