Job summary

TipTopJob is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer in Cambridge to join a leading consulting engineering firm. The role involves mentoring junior engineers and technicians while delivering complex structural solutions for a range of projects from offices to historic buildings.

The candidate should have strong experience in UK codes, proficiency with Tekla Structural Designer, AutoCAD, Revit and TEDDS, and hold or be near-chartered status with IStructE or MICE.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years or more post graduation experience working as a Structural Engineer.
• Must have been working for a firm of consulting engineers.
• BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (MBA/MSc optional).
• Ideally Chartered with IStructE or MICE or be near chartered.
• Experience with structural software e.g. Tekla Structural Designer; good Excel and TEDDS usage.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; Bluebeam; BIM Level 2 advantageous.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of UK codes and regulations.
• Excellent written and spoken communication with clients and contractors.
• Some mentoring experience of junior engineers/technicians would be good.
• Full UK driving licence required.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER to join our client based in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity to join an award winning firm of consulting engineers who offer the right candidates interesting projects to work on and good prospects for promotion. They have experience of working on projects for commercial offices, schools and colleges, industrial buildings, high end residential, historic cathedrals, retail space and more.

You will be mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

THE CLIENT

Our client is a successful, award winning firm of consulting engineers who are working on various projects in the built environment. They currently have two offices in the U.K.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to have experience of the following:

• At least 3 years or more post graduation experience working as a Structural Engineer.
• You must have been working for a firm of consulting engineers.
• You need to have a BSc in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering and possibly also have an MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• You will ideally be either Chartered with IStructE or MICE or be almost chartered.
• You should have used structural engineering software e.g. Tekla Structural Designer plus good experience in the use of Excel and TEDDS.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit and Bluebeam along with BIM Level 2 advantageous.

• You must have excellent communication skills : both written and spoken to deal with clients and contractors.
