The role is based from their busy Birmingham office. You will be working on a diverse range of developments from concept through to completion. The role:
- Lead a diverse portfolio of projects, delivering excellence across all stages and outputs.
- Manage UK‑based projects across industrial, residential, retail, commercial, and healthcare sectors, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated design solutions that meet client objectives and project goals.
- Drive successful project delivery within agreed timescales and budgets, maintaining our reputation for quality and reliability.
- Undertake structural assessments and inspections of new and existing properties, applying expertise in steel, concrete, masonry, and timber to resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Carry out structural analysis and design using industry‑standard software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds), ensuring accuracy and consistency in technical outputs including drawings and reports.
- Prepare clear, high‑quality documentation such as structural survey reports that demonstrate precision and professionalism.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and contributing to the development of the wider team.
What you need to succeed:
- Proven ability to lead projects independently from concept through to construction.
- Strong technical background in both new build and refurbishment structures.
- Experience with a range of materials including concrete, steel, timber, and masonry.
- Ability to mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
- A proactive, hands‑on approach and a genuine interest in high‑quality structural design.
- Excellent communication skills and experience liaising with clients, architects, and contractors.
- Competence in structural design software (e.g. Tekla, TEDDS, ETABS, or similar).
- Ideally Chartered with IStructE or ICE, or nearing chartership with demonstrable progress.
- MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
