Job summary

2H Offshore Group (Acteon’s Engineering consultancy) is seeking a Senior Structural Designer to deliver high-quality 3D models and drawings for offshore renewables, oil and gas, CCUS and gas storage projects. Roles include developing detailed models for platforms and subsea structures and coordinating with engineers across disciplines.

You will ensure drawings meet project standards and support fabrication, transportation and installation, while mentoring junior designers.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years' experience in structural drafting and 3D modelling within offshore energy per sector standards (API/EN/ISO/DNV).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; familiarity with E3D/PDMS/MicroStation/Tekla is beneficial.
• Experience with offshore steel structures such as jackets, topsides, subsea structures or similar assets.
• Understanding of fabrication, transportation, and installation requirements for offshore structures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural models for offshore platforms, foundations, subsea structures, and associated equipment.
• Produce and review fabrication, assembly, general arrangement, and installation drawings to project requirements and company standards.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and other disciplines including facilities, mechanical, electrical and installation engineering.
• Ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with fabrication and installation requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and model reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare material take-offs, bills of materials and drawing registers as required.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers and drafting personnel.

Based in Woking (UK) or Paris (France), you will play a key role in the development of detailed structural designs for a range of offshore structures including platform and wind turbine foundations and associated equipment.Working closely with discipline engineers and fabrication specialists, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed 3D models and engineering drawings throughout project execution. You will ensure designs and drawings are delivered to the highest standards of quality while supporting efficient fabrication, transportation, and installation of offshore structures.The successful candidate will combine extensive offshore structural drafting and modelling experience with a strong understanding of engineering deliverables and multidisciplinary project execution. You will have the opportunity to work across offshore wind, CCUS, oil and gas and emerging energy technologies, contributing to projects from concept selection through to construction and installation.Duties & Main Responsibilities• Develop and maintain detailed 3D structural models for offshore platforms, foundations, subsea structures, and associated equipment.• Produce and review high-quality fabrication, assembly, general arrangement, and installation drawings in accordance with project requirements and company standards.• Coordinate with structural engineers and other engineering disciplines including facilities, mechanical, electrical and installation engineering.• Ensure designs are practical, constructible, and aligned with fabrication and installation requirements.• Participate in design reviews and model reviews with internal and external stakeholders.• Prepare material take-offs, bills of materials and drawing registers as required.• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers and drafting personnel, including ensuring adherence to CAD standards, drawing templates, and modelling best practices.Required• HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Structural or Mechanical Design or a related discipline.• 5-10 years' experience in structural drafting and 3D modelling within the offshore energy sector according to international codes and standards (e.g., API, EN, ISO, DNV, AWS)• Strong understanding of offshore steel structures, including jackets, topsides, subsea structures, or similar assets• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including development of large structural assemblies and fabrication drawings. Experience with E3D, PDMS, MicroStation & Tekla would be beneficial.• Experience producing fabrication details including steelwork assemblies, connections, and structural detailing.• Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and document control processes.• Understanding of fabrication, transportation, and installation requirements for offshore structures. Experience of rig-installed platforms would be beneficial.• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.• Experience mentoring junior designers would be advantageous.Location WokingWork Country England
