Job summary

The Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster is seeking a Consultant in Stroke and Geriatric Medicine to join a multidisciplinary team in a full‑time substantive post. The role requires full GMC registration and entry on the Specialist Register or equivalent, with potential to span >10 PAs per week.

You will contribute to acute stroke care, TIA services and rehabilitation, and work closely with a range of colleagues across the Trust to deliver high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with license to practice.
• CCT in General Internal Medicine and geriatric medicine or nearing completion within six months of interview.
• Evidence of additional stroke experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute medical and rehabilitation care for stroke and elderly patients.
• Lead the Stroke Service and participate in regional/On-Call duties as applicable.
• Collaborate with Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery and Vascular Surgery teams and mentor junior staff.
