Job summary

WR Engineering seeks a Senior Stress Engineer to own design analysis, from hand calculations to FE methods, ensuring safety, efficiency and fit for purpose on mission-critical projects in highly regulated sectors.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influence early-stage designs, and mentor junior engineers to foster analytical excellence across the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural or stress analysis in regulated environments.
• Familiarity with FE tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS or NASTRAN.
• Degree or HNC/HND in engineering; Chartered preferred.

Senior Stress Engineer

Are you an experienced Stress Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems? Join a leading UK engineering company delivering mission-critical projects across highly regulated sectors, including nuclear and healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of design analysis – from detailed hand calculations to FE analysis – ensuring designs are safe, efficient, and fit for purpose.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, influence early-stage designs, and mentor junior engineers to build analytical excellence across the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural or stress analysis, ideally within a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of BS EN 13001, BS 2573, Eurocode 3, and familiarity with FE tools (ANSYS, ABAQUS, or NASTRAN).
• A degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline (Chartered Engineer preferred).
• A practical, collaborative approach and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
