Job summary

Renishaw is seeking a strategic buyer to lead a portfolio of commodities, driving sourcing strategies and supplier performance from our Woodchester or Miskin sites. The role blends on-site collaboration with two days remote work, supporting procurement excellence across global suppliers.

You will manage complex negotiations, develop risk strategies and engage with engineering, manufacturing and NPD teams to sustain production and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Significant procurement/category management experience in manufacturing.
• Experience developing and implementing sourcing or commodity strategies.
• Proven ability to lead commercial negotiations and manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Experience improving supplier performance across cost, quality and delivery.
• Strong data analysis and stakeholder communication skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects in manufacturing/engineering.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver sourcing strategies for assigned commodity groups aligned with technical, operational and commercial objectives.
• Develop and manage supply chains to maintain service levels and meet production timelines.
• Lead complex negotiations and contract management to deliver best value with risk and sustainability considerations.
• Develop risk mitigation to improve supply continuity and resilience.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in quality, cost, and delivery.
• Lead strategic improvement projects across commodities to boost performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, NPD, Supplier Quality and others for supplier development and NPI.
• Manage stock and planning parameters in ERP, optimise inventory levels.
• Build relationships with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders as commercial lead.
• Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and ways of working.
