Job summary

VE3, a technology and business consultancy, seeks a Lead Storage Data Architect to design a future storage and data-management platform for file/HPC and block storage. You will own current-state assessment, data profiling and target architecture, delivering vendor-neutral, procurement-ready artefacts for migration.

This is a contract/freelance on-site role in Maidenhead. Essential expertise includes multi-petabyte storage design, Dell PowerScale/Isilon and PowerMax, HPC storage, data governance

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing enterprise storage at multi-petabyte scale.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Dell PowerScale/Isilon and Dell PowerMax.
• HPC/research-computing storage with high-throughput workloads.
• Vendor-neutral designs and procurement-ready documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead current-state assessment of file/HPC and block estates.
• Profile unstructured data and create data maps with tiering.
• Design data-management and orchestration layer with lifecycle and retention.
• Ensure fast on-premises tier for HPC and cloud-augmented architecture.
• Produce vendor-neutral options appraisals with CapEx/OPEX view.
• Develop HLD/LLD for target storage architecture.
• Define storage requirements and facilitate client workshops.
• Contribute to Discovery Report and phase estimates for migration.
