Qualifications

• 10+ years in steelwork, structural coordination, or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of steel element design and structural integration.
• Ability to explain the design process clearly and logically.
• Experience in contract management or supporting contractual duties.
• Proven ability to balance safety, quality, cost, and programme impacts.
• Understanding of UK construction regulations with essential CDM knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the full design lifecycle for steel structures.
• Manage communication between designers, fabricators, contractors, and internal teams.
• Review design proposals to ensure safety, compliance, and cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure design decisions consider buildability, installation methods, and risk reduction.
• Support contract management and monitor contractor performance.
• Lead design reviews, design checks, and approval processes for steel elements.
• Maintain documentation, design records, and compliance tracking.
