At Diligent, you’re not just building the future - you’re an agent of positive change, joining a global community on a mission to make an impact.
Diligent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure team, with a specific focus on bridging the gap between infrastructure and application development. The candidate will interface with Diligent's product software engineering teams to advise and enable teams, and continually improve and automate processes. This role will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure in AWS, with a keen eye on optimizing the environment for the development of cutting-edge applications. Core infrastructure includes security governance (ie control tower), shared networking administration, etc.
The ideal candidate will have a background in (web) application development with a strong interest in implementing infrastructure-as-code. This is a software engineering position: you will be expected to read and write “application” code (e.g. Python, TypeScript, shell-script, Ruby, etc.), not only to support application teams, but also to orchestrate infrastructure processes and operations.
Although experience implementing infrastructure-as-code is desired, it is not required since we think your experience as a (web) application developer will allow you to quickly learn how to “codify” infrastructure. However, we require the ability to build the infrastructure for a web application using components provided by cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g. AWS). Please note that since the focus of this position is on infrastructure, you will not be writing as much “application” code as a typical user-facing application developer. Instead, you will doing development in Terraform / CDK and writing “application” code as necessary to support infrastructure (instead of end-users).
