Qualifications

Role: Senior Staff Nurse– Oncology

Location, The Wellington Hospital, St Johns Wood, London

Hours: Full Time 37.5hrs

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Senior Staff Nurse to join our expert Cancer Nursing Team at The Wellington Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK. While this role is typically suited to Band 6 nurses, we warmly welcome applications from established Band 5 Staff Nurses with a minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience in haematology or oncology nursing. Applicants must also be SACT-approved and have at least 1 year of experience independently administering chemotherapy.

The purpose-built Medical Oncology Unit includes 17 oncology beds and 2 neuroendocrine suites, delivering bespoke, patient-centred care.

You’ll be part of a skilled and supportive team delivering high standards of specialist oncology care. With a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, you’ll have the autonomy to provide truly individualised treatment planning and assessments.

What you’ll bring:
  • Current NMC Nurse registration
  • Ideally a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse, OR
  • A Band 5 Nursewith:
    • Minimum3 years’ post-registration oncology nursing experience
    • Experience as anapproved chemotherapy giver (SACT)
    • At least 6 months of independently consolidated chemotherapy administration
  • Strong knowledge of systemic anti-cancer treatments (chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.) and their side effects
