Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC pin required.
  • Significant post registration experience within haematology or oncology setting is essential.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and experience in the administration of SACT are mandatory.
  • Experience in managing and leading a clinical team is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and inspire the nursing team on shift.
  • Oversee assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of complex care pathways.
  • Step up to lead the unit in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse.

Senior Staff Nurse – Haematology Chemo Unit

Location: London, HCA at UCH

Full time, 37.5hrs per week Monday – Friday – Shift times: 8am to 6pm

Contract: Permanent

We are seeking a dynamic and committed Senior Staff Nurse with a background in Haematology to join our Chemo Day Unit at HCA at University College Hospital. Rated “Outstanding” by the CQC, this is one of our flagship specialist cancer centres, dedicated to delivering pioneering treatments and compassionate care. You’ll be part of a facility leading the way in cancer innovation, offering patients access to advanced therapies such as our JACIE accredited bone marrow/stem cell transplant service and our cutting‑edge CAR T‑cell therapy programme.

This is more than a clinical role – it’s a leadership opportunity. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in guiding and inspiring the nursing team on shift, setting high standards and leading by example. Working closely with experienced nurses and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll oversee the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of complex care pathways within a safe and supportive environment. In the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse, you will have the chance to step up and lead the unit, further developing your confidence, autonomy, and management skills.
