We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Senior Staff Nurse within our Bodmin Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Bodmin Clinical Assessment and Treatment Unit (CATU).

Full and part‑time hours are considered.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the nurse in charge, liaising with the multi‑professional team within the department and beyond to promote effective communication and ensure high‑quality care.
  • Take direct referrals to the SDEC and CATU, assessing and treating patients in a nurse‑led environment.
  • Coordinate the triage, arrivals and management of the patient group within a multidisciplinary team to support alternatives to admission.
  • Oversee patient flow in a dynamic setting, supporting patients to return to their own homes where possible in collaboration with admission‑avoidance colleagues, Virtual Ward and community partners.
  • Be responsible and accountable for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care in this setting.
  • Provide leadership, support and supervision to junior colleagues, acting as a role model in the planning, implementation, evaluation and delivery of high‑standard, individualized care.
  • Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence.
