Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Senior Speech and Language Therapist with Neuro experience to join a supportive team and advance your goals within our nursing and therapy services.

You will lead sessions, manage a caseload including dysphagia assessments and treatments, collaborate with families, and develop interventions aligned to care plans, with access to ongoing training and regional professional support.

Job description

Are you a Senior Speech and Language Therapist with Neuro experience, looking for a new opportunity where you will be supported to develop and achieve your goals to become the best you can be? If so, this could be the role for you.

You will lead group therapeutic group sessions, helping people develop and improve their speech and communication. Building one-to-one rapport with service users, you will encourage engagement and empower recovery.

You will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of training courses to support you reach your career goals.

Where you will be working:

4 days per week at The Dean Neurological Centre which has 60 beds, based in Gloucester (GL2 9EE). The site is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham and surrounding villages.

1 day per week at Stanley House which has 41 beds based in Bosbury, Herefordshire (HR8 1HB). Business travel between sites is fully funded, with mileage reimbursed.

Both sites deliver specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability.

They specialise in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment with all rooms adapted to individual requirements. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities and other facilities such as gardens, gym and minibus.

As a Senior Speech and Language Therapist you will be:

• Undertaking audits and contributing to research in the provision of treatments.
• Specialist knowledge in the areas of acquired communication and swallowing disorders.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• HCPC registration
• Proven experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
• Experience of working with families
• Evidence of continuing Professional Development
