Job summary

Arena Racing Company (ARC) is seeking a Safety Officer (Level 4, Spectator Safety Management) to take the lead on spectator safety at Wolverhampton Racecourse. You’ll oversee safety during licensed events, coordinating teams to keep guests safe and compliant with the Green Guide.

Join ARC’s passionate operations team to help deliver exciting race days, manage staffing, incident planning and post-event reporting at a premier venue that welcomes diverse crowds.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 in Spectator Safety (essential).
• IOSH Managing Safely (minimum).
• At least 2 years’ experience in event safety management.
• Strong knowledge of the Green Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds.
• Ability to lead under pressure and make quick decisions.
• Experience in incident management and emergency planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead Event Day Safety Operations across licensed events.
• Plan & Prepare stewarding, security and medical provisions.
• Live Safety Command from gates opening to emergencies.
• Post-event debriefings, incident investigations and reports.
• Liaise with senior management, emergency services and SAG.
• Manage dual sport events when horse and greyhound racing on same day.
