Job summary
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Orpington is seeking a Specialist Pharmacist (Band 8a) to lead and develop both operational and clinical pharmacy services in Rheumatology at PRUH and South Sites. You will deputise for senior pharmacists, provide expert medicines advice and lead education for staff.
The role requires formal NHS pharmacy qualifications, independent prescribing status or willingness to obtain it, and a commitment to professional development within a large teaching
Qualifications
- Must hold MPharm degree and be a registered pharmacist.
- GPhC registration and mandatory CPD.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent.
- Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete.
- Member of the Royal College of Pharmacy.
- Experience in Rheumatology or hospital pharmacy desirable.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop operational and clinical pharmacy services in Rheumatology.
- Deputise for Principal Pharmacist for clinical care groups.
- Provide patient-focused pharmaceutical care and education.
- Participate in outpatient clinics and MDTs.
- Manage drug expenditure and develop guidelines.
