Job summary

A leading children's healthcare provider in London is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to drive educational initiatives within their dynamic team. The role involves developing training programs for pharmacy practitioners, supporting student placements, and managing medicines effectively. Candidates should possess GPhC registration, an MPharm degree, and experience in education and hospital environments. This full-time position offers a competitive salary from £64,156 to £71,148 annually, with fixed-term contracts.

Job Summary

We are looking for a driven and passionate Pharmacist with a love for education and training to join our dynamic and friendly team. Prior paediatric experience is not required but a drive to support people to achieve their full potential is.

Main Duties
  • Lead the development of a holistic Band 6 and 7 development programme to support highly skilled practitioners.
  • Support practitioners and tutors undertaking the UCL diploma programme.
  • Develop GOSH's pharmacy student capacity and lead student placements.
  • Support the Trust's wider medicines management agenda.

Within the Education Team at GOSH we support each other and share opportunities to grow the team, including working across programmes such as Pre‑registration Pharmacy Technician and Foundation Pharmacist programmes.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • MPharm or equivalent (or BPharm/BSc Hons for those qualified before 2002).
  • Evidence portfolio indicating mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
  • Postgraduate qualification e.g., clinical diploma, PTQA management qualification.
  • Experience as a hospital pharmacist with some clinical role experience.
  • Demonstrated experience of delivering education and training.

Desirable: Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, independent prescriber, completion of an HEE Educational Supervisor programme, management qualification, mentoring and tutoring, knowledge of learning methodologies, staff management, project leadership, policy writing, clinical risk and governance, and paediatric pharmacist experience.

Employment Details

Band: 8a

Salary: £64,156 to £71,148 per year (inclusive, pro rata).

Contract: Fixed term 12 months.

Working pattern: Full‑time.

Location: Great Ormond Street Hospital, London WC1N3JH.
