A leading healthcare provider in Tees Valley is looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their Neurosciences team. The role includes providing clinical expertise and rehabilitation support for patients with neurological conditions. Candidates should possess relevant postgraduate qualifications, ideally at the Master’s level, and demonstrate an ability in leadership and service improvement. An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Neurosciences occupational therapy team at South Tees Foundation Trust.
The post holder will be expected to have experience at managing patients with neurological conditions and will be required to have relevant postgraduate study, ideally at Masters level. They should demonstrate advanced specialist skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of patients with neurological conditions.
The Occupational Therapy Service is a well-established large, progressive and dynamic service, which continues to develop within the Trust. The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from other clinicians, the AHP Service Lead and from the Head of Occupational Therapy.
This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant postgraduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research.
The post holder will be part of a specialist multidisciplinary team involved in the care of patients with neurological conditions, post neurosurgery and completing neurorehabilitation.
The post holder will be employed as a Senior Specialist to lead in the provision and development of occupational therapy services for patients within neuroscience services, providing clinical expertise.
The post holder will provide clinical assessment and support with the rehabilitation both acutely and in the rehabilitation setting of neurological patients. Community visits may be required.
They will lead clinical developments and research opportunities to proactively move neurosciences rehabilitation services forward to the benefit of patients and staff within the Trust.

The Leadership And Improvement Programme aims to explore leadership within the NHS, promote Trust values and behaviours, develop leadership effectiveness and skills, and equip staff to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of their role. After completing these six and a half days of training, further leadership and improvement training opportunities are available. A range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bite-sized programmes are offered through the Leadership and Improvement Team.
