This role will provide local clinical leadership to a small team of clinicians and administrative staff working in Colchester as part of the wider Suffolk and North East Essex service. It will involve travel across the whole geography and at times out of the counties of Essex and Suffolk.

The role will provide an exciting opportunity for a public health and community focused nurse who is beginning their leadership journey to support and develop the CSAIS team working alongside the Team lead and two other Specialist Immunisation Nurses.

We are looking for candidates with some knowledge and prior experience of vaccinations, but more importantly a passion for public health and working to promote the long term health of communities and individuals through vaccination.

  • Work collaboratively with the Immunisation teams to provide a service which meets the KPIs and expectations of the commissioners.
  • Work with local statutory, private and voluntary providers and users to develop and promote practice that is accessible and responsive to all sections of the local community, ensuring that services are targeted to the most vulnerable groups and individuals to support social inclusion.
  • Work according to the national and local guidelines on immunisations.
  • Efficiently support the Team lead and team to ensure seamless delivery of the programme.
  • Work closely with the Team Lead and local CSAIS teams to maximize uptake and promote the role of vaccination.
