A regional healthcare provider in Colchester seeks a public health-focused nurse to lead a team for immunisation services. This role involves providing clinical leadership and community engagement to promote vaccination uptake. Candidates should possess a nursing qualification, strong communication skills, and a passion for public health. This position offers a competitive salary ranging from £38,682 to £46,580 annually.
Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) provides community-based healthcare services across the East of England with a value driven approach that is innovative, caring and agile. HCT's Community and School Aged Immunisation Service (CSAIS) works together with other stakeholders to identify eligible individuals and provide immunisations in community and school settings, as well as providing dynamic responses to disease outbreaks wherever required.
This will role be to provide local clinical leadership to a small team of clinicians and administrative staff working in Colchester as part of the wider Suffolk and North East Essex service.
It will involve travel across the whole geography and at times out of the counties of Essex and Suffolk.
The role will provide an exciting opportunity for a public health and community focused nurse who is beginning their leadership journey to support and develop the CSAIS team working alongside the Team lead and two other Specialist Immunisation Nurses.
We are looking for candidates with some knowledge and prior experience of vaccinations, but more importantly a passion for public health and working to promote the long term health of communities and individuals through vaccination.
Proposed Interview Date 26th November 2025
Lead the local area team in the delivery of the all immunisation programmes. To support the wider CSAIS team with other programmes, when required.
To feed into service evaluations and service improvements, growing the service based on the needs to the local populations, to include other clinic based vaccination programmes, such as the under 5s.
To work collaboratively with the Immunisation teams to provide a service which meets the KPIs and expectations of the commissioners.
To work with local statutory, private and voluntary providers and users to develop and promote practice that is accessible and responsive to all sections of the local community, ensuring that services are targeted to the most vulnerable groups and individuals to support social inclusion.
