Job summary

MDA Space in the UK is seeking a Senior Production/AIT Engineer – Planner to lead production scheduling and AIT workflows for satellite-electronics programmes. You will develop routings, SOPs and coordinate cross-functional teams including design, procurement, quality, test and logistics to keep programs on track.

We value lean thinking, problem-solving and strong communication. Experience in space or high-tech defence helps, and a Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required with MSc preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• MSc in Systems Engineering or related field preferred.
• 4–6 years in production engineering, manufacturing operations or AIT in space/high-tech defence.
• Experience planning and controlling complex multi-discipline programmes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage production schedule and AIT workflows; develop routings and SOPs.
• Drive Lean/Six-Sigma to improve throughput and first-time-right rates.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks and changes.
• Maintain production data, risk registers and status reporting using MES/ERP and AIT tools.
• Ensure compliance with ECSS/ISO-9001 and configuration-control processes.
• Train junior staff on production processes and AIT procedures.
