Job summary

Dakota Hotels in the UK seeks an experienced Chef to support the Head Chef, running the kitchen and leading a busy service. You will manage interviews, trial shifts, appraisals and performance, write costed menus, control stock, place orders and ensure food hygiene compliance.

The role also offers the chance to train junior chefs, develop the team, and contribute to high audit scores while maintaining the Dakota culture of positivity and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Leadership and communication to manage a busy kitchen team
• Food hygiene knowledge and HACCP compliance are essential
• Allergen awareness and safety-minded approach required

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in running a busy kitchen and service
• Lead interviews, trial shifts, appraisals and performance management
• Write costed menus aligned with target GP, control stock, place orders
• Prepare and cook dishes across all menus including special events
• Train junior chefs and apprentices in a positive, improvement-focused environment
• Ensure health & safety and food hygiene compliance at all times
