Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Senior Sous Chef will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the smooth running of kitchen operations
- Managing stock control and procedures
- Managing communication within the kitchen and with other departments
- Assisting in menu writing and planning, staying current with industry trends
- Maintaining high standards of food and service
- Running the kitchen in the absence of the Executive/Head Chef
- Managing financial aspects, including costings, invoices, and revenue figures
- Controlling food wastage
- Maintaining food hygiene and safety standards
- Setting professional conduct standards
- Ensuring comprehensive induction for new starters
- Supporting staff training and development
