Solid Talent in Halifax (West Yorkshire) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative educational equipment from concept to production. You will lead multi‑discipline mechanical design, prototyping, verification, and production handover.

The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering, strong SolidWorks skills, FEA/CFD experience, GD&T, and hands‑on prototyping. Collaboration with electronics, software, and manufacturing teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven mechanical design experience with SolidWorks.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical development from concept through production.
• Design complex assemblies and multidisciplinary systems.
• Perform FEA, CFD, and thermal analyses, with GD&T validation.
• Collaborate with electronics, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Create detailed CAD models, BOMs, and production drawings.
• Develop prototypes using 3D printing, CNC, and laser cutting.
• Work with suppliers to optimize DFM/DFA and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews.
