Job summary

Menlo Security is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Threat Protection and ShadowAI team in the UK. You will design, develop, and own features to detect and control risky web and AI usage, building scalable systems with a security-first approach.

You’ll work with AI-assisted tools, contribute to production deployments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on requirements and schedules while delivering robust software and automated tests.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software development with NodeJS, Go, or Python.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with cloud services such as GCP and/or AWS.
• Working experience with Linux and standard development tooling such as git.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field (BE, BTech, or Masters), or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical fluency with AI coding and debugging assistants, including sound judgement about when to rely on LLM output.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own new features and services in Threat Protection and ShadowAI.
• Build highly available, scalable distributed systems and APIs with security in mind.
• Refine detection and policy capabilities for visibility into generative AI usage.
• Participate in deploying and operating the Menlo Security platform in production with monitoring.
• Utilize AI code assistants and AI-assisted test generation within the workflow while ensuring correctness and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product, security, operations, and cross-functional teams on requirements and schedules.
• Write unit and automated tests, perform code and design reviews, and evaluate new technologies.
