Job summary

Searchability is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing Data and AI team delivering modern data platforms and services across the public sector. You will design, build and maintain scalable data solutions in a hands-on role, collaborating with clients and mentoring other engineers.

The role requires strong Python skills, experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, ETL/ELT knowledge, and familiarity with CI/CD, Git and IaC. SC clearance is required and the position offers hybrid/remote UK work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a data engineer.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT and modern data architectures.
• Experience with SQL and database technologies; knowledge of CI/CD, Git and IaC.
• Experience with automated testing and data quality practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Desirable: consultancy or public sector experience; Docker, Airflow, ML/data science, geospatial data and pair/mob programming.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines.

SENIOR DATA ENGINEER

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing Data and AI team, delivering modern data platforms and services across the public sector.

You’ll take a hands‑on role designing, building and maintaining scalable data solutions, while working closely with clients and supporting the development of other engineers.

THE ROLE

• Build and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines
• Develop solutions using Python and AWS, Azure or GCP
• Work across ETL/ELT, batch and streaming data
• Build and work with data lakes and data warehouses
• Implement data quality, unit and integration testing
• Use Git, CI/CD and Terraform

• Work directly with clients and technical stakeholders

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
