Senior Software Engineer, Python, Computer Vision, to £600 per day

An immediate need for a Senior Software Engineer with strong skills in Python, Linux, Docker, and ideally Computer Vision, has arisen with an innovative technology company. Offered as an initial 3-month contract within IR35, the contract can be offered on an either a fully-remote basis, or hybrid, with offices in South Oxfordshire.

The Role

The Senior Software Engineer will be embedded within a cross-functional engineering team, working closely with researchers, systems engineers, and fellow software developers. You will take ownership of project delivery from initial brief through to scoping, design, implementation, and testing — going deep on a focused area of work rather than context-switching across multiple workstreams. Depending on your strengths, this could span camera and network integration, real-time video processing pipelines, or tooling built to accelerate R&D and large-scale evaluation.

What experience does the Senior Software Engineer need?

• Demonstrable expertise in Python, Linux, and Docker across real-world production or research environments
• A proven record of completing technical projects independently, delivering to specification and on schedule, with the confidence to take a loose brief and drive it through to a finished outcome
• Experience ideally in one or more specialist areas: camera and network integration (including streaming protocols such as RTSP or ONVIF), real-time video analytics, edge deployment, or R&D infrastructure such as synthetic data pipelines and evaluation tooling
