Job summary

Roke seeks a Software Engineer in Gloucester to join a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining scalable software and data-processing solutions with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability and operational excellence.

The candidate will work across the software lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, data scientists, SREs, and product teams to deliver data-intensive, highly reliable systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot and big data engineering.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable data-processing solutions.
• Familiarity with automation, reliability, CI/CD and operation excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain scalable applications and services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain big data processing solutions using Hadoop and related technologies.
• Build and maintain reliable, efficient data-processing pipelines.
• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, SREs and product teams.
• Apply software engineering best practices including automated testing and version control.
