Senior Software Engineer II - Java - Security

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with a passion for all things security.

Our team is Internal Access Tooling, in the Security squad. We build custom solutions for managing and monitoring access to Wise’s internal applications. Our goal is to provide efficient, segregated and auditable access to all operational tooling.

How we work

We operate on a strong belief in automation, programmatic implementation, and reusable design. We’re looking for people who can step back and think holistically about the ecosystem, but also follow through and help implement the design; drawing on the resources across the rest of the platform tribe.

As we grow, we also expand on internal tooling in our backoffice. We need to sustain this growth by continuously iterating on the services we run, with a focus on availability, security, and ease of use. We’re looking for an engineer with relevant experience who can analyse complex requirements and deliver simple solutions to help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.

What will you be working on?

Working closely with product and platform engineers, as well as governance specialists, to find new ways of improving our access controls

Making access management seamless by providing reliable custom tooling and proactive, easy-to-use solutions

Designing and building new approaches to improving the overall security posture of Wise

Mentoring junior engineers and helping the team to grow
