Job summary

Rightmove in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to own and evolve complex web applications, collaborating with Product, Design and Engineering. You will work on a modern stack (TypeScript, React, Express, Node.js) inside a hybrid team and contribute to scalable, reliable software used by millions.

The role emphasizes mentoring, shaping architectural decisions, and delivering high-quality code through testing and automation, while exploring new technologies to improve speed and user

• Build and evolve products using a modern technology stack including TypeScript, React, Express, Node.js, Kubernetes and GitLab.
• Deliver high-quality software that can be released safely and frequently to production.
• Partner with Product, Design and Engineering teams to solve complex, real-world challenges.
• Influence technical direction and help shape the work that goes into each sprint.
• Design scalable, resilient systems alongside Architects and Principal Engineers.
• Contribute to engineering communities, standards and best practices across Rightmove.
• Coach and mentor fellow engineers to grow and develop.
• Collaborate through code reviews and technical discussions to continuously improve quality.
• Experiment with new technologies and approaches to deliver more value.
