Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer II to join our Southampton-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a modern data platform that underpins products providing data and insights across the aviation industry.

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, test, and maintain scalable and resilient data platform services.
  • Peer review code to promote best practice and continuous improvement.
  • Respond to support requests to keep other teams in Cirium running with our Data Platform.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software aligned with business goals.
  • Demonstrate self-leadership by taking ownership of initiatives and driving them to completion.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, continuous learning, and technical excellence within the team.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments and bring these into the business, particularly GenAI.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in software engineering or a related field (equivalent experience and non-traditional backgrounds are welcome).
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to share ideas and designs effectively through documentation and collaboration.
  • Experience working with data platforms, distributed systems, and data pipelines in cloud-native environments.
  • Solid understanding of SRE practices, including observability, incident response, and automation.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Proficiency with Git and Github, Terraform, AWS environments, Python. (Equivalent technologies are welcome, too.)
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for solving complex problems and troubleshooting technical issues.
