Hargreaves Lansdown is expanding its Discover engineering team in Bristol, seeking a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus. You will work primarily on AWS serverless backend services and APIs, while contributing to frontend work when needed.

This is an opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies, GraphQL-based architectures and event-driven systems that support client journeys and discovery of investment opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building scalable backend services for cloud-native platforms.
• Strong understanding of GraphQL APIs and federation patterns.
• Proven hands-on experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.

About the role

Full Stack Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus, working across TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL and AWS serverless technologies. You'll help build and evolve the Discover platform, delivering scalable APIs, cloud-native services and customer journeys that support investment discovery, savings, search and account onboarding experiences.

We're expanding our Discover engineering team and are looking for a Full Stack Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to help build and evolve one of our key customer discovery platforms. You'll work primarily on AWS serverless backend services, APIs and platform capabilities, whilst also contributing to frontend applications when required. This is an opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies, GraphQL-based architectures, event-driven systems and customer-facing products that play a key role in our digital experience.

We're looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems, taking ownership of solutions and contributing to the continuous improvement of both technology and engineering practices.

You’ll help build customer journeys that enable clients to discover investment opportunities, compare savings products, search across financial instruments and complete account opening and transfer journeys.
