Job summary

Uswitch is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Marketing Enablement team to build and manage data pipelines that turn data into actionable insights for the organisation.

You will design and implement a cloud-based ELT platform, work with cross-functional teams on end-to-end data solutions, and become an expert on handling large-scale behavioural data across multiple websites and product areas. Hybrid work with in-office days.

Qualifications

  • Experience building, refactoring or optimizing data lakes and warehouses from diverse data sources.
  • Experience building ETL pipelines (streaming or batch) with Spark or Beam.
  • Experience orchestrating complex pipelines using Airflow, Dagster or similar.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, Go or other languages.
  • Experience with AWS or GCP services (S3, GCS, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Lambda/Cloud Functions, DataProc).
  • Experience with Spark, Redshift, BigQuery or Snowflake analytics databases.

Responsibilities

Job description

Hybrid Work Arrangement

London. 2 days per week in our Tower Bridge office (Tuesdays & Thursdays). All other days remote.

Role Summary

A Senior Software Engineer on the Marketing Enablement team building and managing data pipelines that transform data into actionable insights across the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to create end‑to‑end data solutions for analysts and business teams
  • Design, implement, and optimise a cloud‑based Extract‑Load‑Transform (ELT) platform to reshape RVU’s data infrastructure and warehouse
  • Become an expert on handling behavioural data from more than three websites and dozens of e‑commerce product areas, serving millions of users each month
  • Build systems that enable self‑service analytics and pave the way for data science applications across our businesses
  • Monitor performance metrics for data production and consumption, and respond to incidents
Qualifications
  • Experience building, designing, refactoring or optimising data lakes and warehouses from diverse data sources using data modelling techniques
  • Experience building ETL pipelines (streaming or batch) with MPP frameworks such as Spark or Beam
  • Experience orchestrating complex pipelines using Airflow, Dagster or similar
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, Java, Go or other
  • Experience with AWS or GCP services (S3, GCS, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, Lambda/Cloud Functions, DataProc)
  • Experience with one of the main analytics databases (Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake)
Nice to Have
  • Experience modelling and transforming data from event collection to report curation, especially for e‑commerce or affiliate businesses
  • Experience building production‑grade ML pipelines
  • Experience using infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Experience using CI/CD principles
