Job summary

RWE Supply & Trading GmbH seeks .NET developers to backfill for a key internal project through 2-year fixed-term roles. You will develop, maintain and support credit risk systems in an agile environment, collaborating with business stakeholders to optimise risk controls and ensure safe trading operations.

You will work with .NET technologies, contribute to CI/CD and automated testing, and explore AI-enabled development to improve efficiency and software quality.

Qualifications

  • Strong OO development experience with .NET and C#.
  • Solid understanding of software design and modern practices.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, APIs and system integrations.

To start as soon as possible, full time / part time, fixed term (2 years)

We in the Credit Risk IT department at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST)are responsible for the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our critical business systems.
We’re looking for .NET developers who are motivated to work on business-critical applications and contribute to ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for the runtime of an internal project to backfill for the colleagues doing the project work.

RWEST is undertaking the Credit System Landscape Optimisation Project, now renamed BradyExit. The fixed-term employment is for work on the BradyExit Project, which focuses on optimising the credit system landscape and is expected to continue until 31.12.2028. The staffing requirement will end once the project is completed.

About the role
  • Developing, maintaining and supporting business-critical credit risk solutions in close collaboration with business stakeholders, using agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Developing a deep understanding of credit risk management processes, including counterparty credit limits, exposure calculation and monitoring, collateral management, and risk controls that support safe trading activities.
  • Providing production support in line with agreed service levels and working closely with users to investigate and resolve incidents and system issues.
  • Working with .NET technologies to build and maintain enterprise-grade applications that support critical risk management functions.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of software quality through best engineering practices, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD processes.
  • Exploring and adopting modern technologies, including AI-assisted development and operational tooling, to improve productivity, software quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Taking ownership of technical solutions and contributing to the long-term evolution of the Credit Risk Squad technology landscape.
Job requirements and experience
  • Strong software engineering experience with object-oriented technologies such as .NET.
  • Solid understanding of software design, application architecture, and modern development practices.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, APIs, system integrations, and distributed applications.
  • Experience with automated testing and a quality-first approach to secure and reliable software development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in using AI and emerging technologies to improve development and automation.
  • Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments, with an end-to-end software ownership mindset across the full development lifecycle.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with excellent English and the ability to work across technical and business teams.
Advantageous, but not essential
  • German is a plus.
  • Experience in credit risk, risk management, trading, energy markets, or financial services is advantageous but not mandatory.
