Homeprotect is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead technical delivery for customer-facing systems and the claims workflow. You will own complex features, make architectural decisions, and mentor teammates to raise the overall capability of the engineering group.
You’ll operate across frontend and backend stacks, contribute to cloud-native practices, and collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to deliver reliable, scalable solutions for UK homeowners.
We founded Homeprotect on a simple principle - to provide protection to people underserved by the home insurance industry. Since 2002, we've been combining smart technology with real human expertise to protect hundreds of thousands of unique homes across the UK, and we're just getting started.
We founded Homeprotect on a simple principle - to provide protection to people underserved by the home insurance industry. Since 2002, we've been combining smart technology with real human expertise to protect hundreds of thousands of unique homes across the UK, and we're just getting started.
Our customers come from all walks of life and so do our people. We're a small but perfectly formed team of insurance specialists, technologists, data scientists and customer champions - all bringing individual expertise, an appetite for innovation and a shared ambition to protect the homes and things people love.
We work at pace, but we trust our people to work in a way that brings out their best. You'll collaborate closely across teams, have real ownership from day one and see the impact you have first‑hand with flexible working to help you balance the needs of your role with the rhythm of your life.
We've been recognised as a Great Place to Work UK for seven consecutive years - most recently ranked 29th nationally, jumping 71 places in a single year.
Customer & Claims brings together three connected parts of Homeprotect's business: the shared digital experience customers and partners use across every channel, the tools our operations teams use to support customers directly, and the end‑to‑end claims journey, from a customer first reporting a loss through to their claim being settled. It's the team most responsible for how Homeprotect actually feels to a customer, whichever door they come through.
Fairer Finance rates us as the UK's most transparent Home Insurer. This team plays a central part in that reputation: the systems you build directly shape how trustworthy and easy Homeprotect feels at the moments that matter most to customers.
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead technical delivery within this team and raise the capability of the engineers around them. You'll take ownership of complex, customer-facing systems and claims workflows, make sound architectural decisions with minimal guidance, and be a trusted technical voice for a domain that touches nearly every interaction a customer has with Homeprotect.
Success in this role means the systems you own are reliable, well understood and easy for others to build on, and the engineers around you are visibly better because you're on the team.
